T-Mobile Austria deploys Mavenir SBC for IP Interconnect

T-Mobile Austria has selected Mavenir Systems Session Border Controller (SBC) for its IP Interconnect and Access SBC Project.

Mavenir said its SBC, which is optimized for wireless applications, will support T-Mobile Austria’s plans to commercially launch next generation solutions and services in 2015.

“We selected Mavenir as a key vendor in this area, based on their ability to deliver and implement next generation solutions that support our network strategy. This solution will be deployed for both Interconnect and Access SBC use cases,” said Ruediger Koester, CTIO of T-Mobile Austria.

Mavenir’s SBC can be deployed on cloud-based infrastructures using Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and Software Defined Network (SDN) technologies.

“As operators launch 4G multimedia services and move to IP-based networks, they require an SBC that is designed to handle the unique challenges of wireless and mobility,” said Pardeep Kohli, president and chief executive officer of Mavenir Systems.
