Sunrise deploys Nokia converged charging software

Nokia said Sunrise Communications has deployed its converged charging software targeting to enhance the user experience for the company’s 3.5 million customers in Switzerland.

Converged Charging offers the performance and reliability required to efficiently deliver high-quality digital services.

Sunrise can quickly create differentiated offers even for the most complex IoT use cases and services enabled by 5G network slicing.

Elmar Grasser, CTO / CIO of Sunrise, said: “Nokia’s cloud-native monetization software enables Sunrise to rapidly launch innovative services for our private and business customers, support emerging use cases enabled by 5G and IoT, and further increase customer loyalty.”

Bhaskar Gorti, president of Nokia Software, said: “By implementing our Converged Charging solution, Sunrise can improve the customer experience today and cost-efficiently monetize current and future business models.”

Nokia said over 270 service providers rely on Nokia’s Monetization solution to deliver service innovation, covering more than 1.8 billion subscriptions.

Swisscom, one of the main rivals of Sunrise, earlier said it will be spending CHF 2.3 billion towards Capex (capital expenditure) this year with a special focus on fiber and 5G network expansion.

Swisscom had 55 disruptions, UPC had 53 disruptions, Salt had 22, and Sunrise recorded 8 disruptions from April 1, 2019 – May 31, 2020, according to allestorungen.ch. Swisscom had registered the highest number of incident reports for one month in March 2020 with 14 disruptions.
