StarHub has deployed Nokia Networks’ TD-LTE, FD-LTE and outdoor small cells solution as part of its 4G HetNet in Marina Bay, Singapore.
Nokia Networks said the HetNet enabled StarHub to achieve 100 percent service availability even under heavy load during recent major events, including Singapore’s Jubilee weekend.
HetNet also showcased the industry’s first TDD-FDD VoLTE handover, with zero call-drops and HD voice continuity for subscribers.
“We are delivering the world’s fastest, future-ready 4G network that can address the ever-growing data traffic demands of our customers without compromising on the quality of service,” said Mock Pak Lum, chief technology officer of StarHub.
As part of the solution, LTE-Advanced carrier aggregation delivered high data rates, while StarHub installed Nokia Flexi Zone small cells at strategic traffic hotspots to handle peak-hour data demand. As a result of the 4G HetNet in Marina Bay, Singapore, StarHub mobile subscribers benefited from ultra-fast mobile broadband experience with optimum network coverage and capacity.
