Samsung India Electronics today announced the appointment of Alcatel-Lucent veteran Srini Sundararajan as the head of Network Business — Southwest Asia.
Reliance Jio Infocomm, which is rolling out 4G services across India, is one of the customers of Samsung India’s Network Business.
Srini Sundararajan will be responsible for managing operations and developing business opportunities of Samsung’s mobile network business.
Earlier, Srini Sundararajan was the head of Alcatel-Lucent India and South Asia business, and contributed significantly towards business profitability, market development and organizational management.
Recently, telecom network vendor Nokia announced the completion of its $17 billion deal to acquire Alcatel-Lucent. Incidentally, Alcatel-Lucent India never won any LTE deals under the leadership of Srini Sundararajan.
At Samsung, Srini Sundararajan aims to establish relationship with customers, partners and suppliers.
Along with Ericsson, Nokia, ZTE and Huawei, Samsung Network Business will continue to compete for LTE infrastructure deals in India. Telecom network operators such as Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, Vodafone India and Reliance Jio Infocomm are in the process of rolling out 4G services.
