Route Mobile, a messaging and voice API company, announced its deal to acquire Cellent Technologies.

Globally, the A2P (application-to-peer) messaging market is seeing consolidation with Sweden’s CLX Technologies acquiring Mblox and Vonage buying Nexmo.

The first acquisition will enable Route Mobile to add more than 250 customers and over 30 people.

Cellent Technologies has a presence in the A2P messaging markets in the Middle East and Africa.

Rajdip Gupta, CEO of Route Mobile, said: “We are making strategic acquisitions to strengthen our presence in markets globally as well as to offer a wider set of products and services to our customers.”

Siddharth Goel is the founder and Director of Cellent Technologies.

Route Mobile, started in 2004, routes more than 2 billion messages a month over its proprietary technology. Route Mobile handles both A2P (application to peer) and P2P (peer to peer) traffic for enterprises and MNOs.

Route Mobile’s headquarters and R&D center are in Mumbai, India with offices in Toronto, Congo, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Nigeria, UAE and the London and employs close to 300 people.
