Positron offers 800 Mbps over copper at real service distances

Positron Access,
a global provider of carrier Ethernet over bonded copper solutions for Business
services and Mobile / DSLAM backhaul, announced a breakthrough that delivers up
to 800 Mbps Ethernet over copper at real life service distances.

FlexStream
800, which is in deployment trials at Tier 1 customers, is a disruptive
solution that delivers ultra high-speed business Ethernet services and LTE
wireless site backhaul.

FlexStream
800 expands Positron’s Aktino Ethernet over copper solution, which enables
service providers to quickly and profitably deliver bandwidth over the existing
copper infrastructure and avoid the high cost and long schedules of deploying
fiber facilities.

In addition,
Aktino delivers fiber-like reliability to meet the demanding requirements of wireless
service providers and their customer’s insatiable hunger for bandwidth, with
more than a ten-fold ROI advantage over fiber.

With
FlexStream 800, we have cemented our leadership in providing the highest
bandwidth available on bonded copper. Service providers can now expand their
footprint and their range of services offered,” said Claude Brisson, chief
operating officer for Positron Access.

FlexStream
800 combines our revolutionary MIMO-on-DMT technology with VDSL2 vectoring to
deliver Ethernet over copper at rates that have not yet been practically
achieved,” said Hossam Salib, VP of product management and marketing for
Positron Access.

We now offer
a true multi-service, symmetric/asymmetric bonded copper solution that provides
bandwidths ranging from 100 Mbps to 800 Mbps at reaches from 1,000 to 65,000
feet, all from the same product platform,” Salib added.
