O3b Networks and AMRTUR partners to provide satellite-delivered internet in Brunei

Telecom Lead Middle East: O3b Networks has entered into a
multi-million dollar agreement with Brunei-based technology provider AMRTUR
Corporation to provide private high-speed, satellite-delivered internet to
various industries in Brunei.


With a strategic business alliance with Datastream
Technology (DST), the services will mainly focus on oil and gas activities in Brunei
Darussalam and other regional clients.


 A single O3b beam will be deployed to cover the 200
oil rigs and other Services currently using microwave or expensive traditional
satellite systems in and around Brunei Darussalam.


This agreement with O3b will enable us to push our oil
and gas technology offering even further by supplying private high-speed
internet connectivity to the oil & gas drilling rigs and related services
which support their daily operations in the Brunei Darussalam and regional territorial
waters,” said Mahmod Yakop, founder & managing director of AMRTUR
Corporation.


AMRTUR has also ventured into Integrated Intelligent
Smart Well System (IISW) technologies for down hole pressure, and distributed
temperature measurements.  AMRTUR will offer its customers withprivate
high-speed internet and VoIP.


O3b Networks said that oil and gas industry is a growing
and very exciting market for the company.

lead the way in technology innovations in Brunei Darussalam and be recognized
more and more as an enabler of systems currently not possible because of the
