NSN CEO Rajeev Suri meets Chinese President Xi Jinping in Germany

NSN CEO Rajeev Suri has met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Germany.

The discussions, ahead of an official banquet in honor of the President’s visit to Germany, focused on bilateral trade and collaboration between the two countries. The meeting was held on 29 March.

NSN did not share specific details. China is a big market for NSN. China Mobile is in the process of rolling out the world’s largest 4G network. NSN has already bagged major orders from China Mobile to supply TD-LTE network equipments.

“Over the past 30 years, NSN has demonstrated its commitment to China’s telecom sector,” said Suri. “NSN is at the forefront of bringing 4G TD-LTE technology to the world, showing the potential for joint innovation between Europe and China.”

NSN has key R&D competencies in its LTE development center in Ulm, Germany, and TD-LTE global R&D headquarters, manufacturing, customer operations, sales, marketing and services in China.

NSN in a statement said development of TD-LTE is an excellent example of successful Sino-German cooperation with joint effort of NSN’s R&D centers in Ulm and Hangzhou, and the China Academy of Telecommunications Research.

Recently, NSN announced its plans to establish a Mobile Broadband Security Center in Berlin.
