Nokia to Modernize Du’s Network Infrastructure, Pioneering Enhanced Voice Services

Nokia has clinched a deal with Emirates Integrated Telecommunication Company (EITC) to revamp and modernize Du’s Circuit Switched Core network.
Educational apps and platformsThis comprehensive project involves expanding and modernizing the existing IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Voice Core Network to facilitate the seamless provision of Voice over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) services.

The initiative promises a significant upgrade in voice quality and paves the way for customers to access an array of services. Beyond this, the modernization of Du’s infrastructure positions the company strategically for the rollout of Voice over New Radio (VoNR) services.

Central to this deployment is the empowerment of Du to offer enhanced Fixed voice services, signaling an era of improved connectivity and user experience. To achieve these advancements, Nokia is set to provide its AVA Traffica and Mediation solutions, delivering real-time insights crucial for superior network management.

Moreover, Nokia’s solutions will ensure continued support for 3G users until they transition to handsets compatible with VoLTE services. Additionally, the expansion of IMS capacity will handle the burgeoning network usage, fortifying Du’s infrastructure for future demands.

Commenting on this strategic collaboration, Samar Mittal, VP of Cloud and Network Services (CNS) at Nokia MEA, highlighted the UAE’s digitalization drive, emphasizing the direct positive impact on end-users through enhanced voice experiences across multiple technologies, while also laying the groundwork for future services.

Du’s Chief Technology Officer, Saleem AlBlooshi, underscored the company’s unwavering dedication to enhancing customer experiences.
