Adani Energy Selects Airtel Business to Rollout 20 mn Smart Meters

Adani Energy Solutions has selected Airtel Business, the business-to-business division of Bharti Airtel, for the deployment of over 20 million smart meters.

Furthermore, Airtel’s IoT platform, ‘Airtel IoT Hub,’ integrated into the solution, empowers AESL with advanced analytics, diagnostic capabilities, and real-time insights. This platform grants customers greater control over their energy consumption by enabling smart meter tracking and monitoring, fostering enhanced efficiency.

Adani Energy Solutions, holding an order book for over 20 million smart meters from power utilities across Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, and Uttarakhand, is poised to revolutionize the power sector through this strategic collaboration.

Ganesh Lakshminarayanan, CEO of Airtel Business (India), emphasized the significance of India’s smart metering program as a fundamental element in the country’s digitalization of the power sector. He highlighted Airtel’s NB-IoT technology as a key enabler, poised to provide extensive coverage, heightened reliability, and robust security in managing smart meters at scale.

Echoing this sentiment, Kandarp Patel, CEO of Adani Energy Solutions Ltd., expressed pride in AESL’s role in India’s transformative Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). Patel emphasized the collaboration with Airtel as pivotal in achieving a smarter, more efficient grid.
