Nokia Expands Defense Portfolio with Acquisition of Fenix Group

Nokia has finalized an agreement to acquire Fenix Group, a specialized provider of tactical 3GPP communications solutions catering to defense communities.
NOKIAFenix Group, known for its tactical communications products like the Banshee family, boasts innovative systems tailored for data connections catering to multiple devices and users concurrently. With a focus on military applications, these solutions are crafted to meet the diverse needs of defense operations. Fenix Group operates under the investment portfolio of Enlightenment Capital.

Nokia, a prominent global entity in commercial 5G mobile broadband and private wireless solutions for mission-critical applications, envisions integrating Fenix’s tactical communications prowess to enhance its offerings for defense clientele. This strategic move aims to fortify Nokia’s suite of solutions, further strengthening its position in the defense technology landscape.

Tommi Uitto, President of Mobile Networks at Nokia, expressed enthusiasm about this pivotal acquisition, stating, “The addition of Fenix Group aligns seamlessly with our strategy to bolster our defense business.
