MWC 2015: Huawei shares indoor mobile broadband solution LampSite2.0

Zhengzhou Railway Station, a transport hub in mainland China, has achieved 340 percent increase in mobile traffic since it deployed Huawei’s LampSite solution. Operators can earn back the investment just within two years.

“User experience is a driving force behind mobile broadband networks,” said Xu Zhijun, Huawei’ current rotating CEO.

In digital indoor networks, radio frequency (RF) digital processing units are extended to network end nodes to reduce interference and improve MIMO performance. Black-box management under the analog system architecture is replaced with visualized O&M on the indoor network.

LampSite 2.0 offers voice and data communication capabilities. The indoor coverage solution also supports interaction with Service Anchor, an enterprise service gateway, and represents openness of radio communication pipes.

Huawei said the indoor coverage solution, which competes with Ericsson’s Red Dot System, allows for cooperation with application development partners to offer value-added services, such as indoor navigation, statistical measurement of passenger flow, and pinpoint advertisement pushing.
