Infinera announced the appointment of Scott Jackson as vice president, responsible for Subsea Business Group.
The company said Scott Jackson will focus on enabling subsea network operators to maximize capacity and reach on their subsea cables, reduce operational expense, and to deploy services faster than competing systems.
Scott Jackson was involved in undersea fiber systems from their genesis, including the first transoceanic optical cable, TAT-8, connecting North America and Europe. Jackson’s experience includes 18 years at Bell Labs Submarine Systems, later Tyco Undersea Systems, where as a managing director, he led development of undersea repeaters and later undersea terminal equipment.
Scott Jackson served as vice president and general manager for the Finisar NJ Transmission Technology Center, vice president of engineering for Kodeos Communications, vice president of engineering for Defense Photonics Group, and most recently, chief technical officer for 4D Security Solutions.
