KPN Netherlands initiated the IMS-based call to connect China Mobile utilizing IBASIS as a tandem office. The objective of the test was to verify the commercial deployment of international VoLTE roaming. During the call, high-fidelity voice and video capabilities were tested and provided a strong foundation for long distance communication.

Long Jiping, vice president, Huawei Core Network, said: “As 4G evolves Huawei will continue to work with both operators to stimulate a smooth network evolution from 3G. This will bring higher quality service experience to their users.”
