Dell’Oro Group said Huawei and Ericsson held the top revenue spots, while ZTE rose to third on wins in emerging telecom markets. Huawei and Ericsson account for 45 percent of the worldwide microwave transmission revenue share.

This momentum in the microwave transmission market was largely fueled by increasing demand for mobile backhaul (MBH) infrastructure across emerging markets, particularly in India, the Middle East, and Africa, which posted respective growth rates of 82 percent, 21 percent, and 26 percent.

Huawei has retained its position as the top vendor worldwide by revenue share in the microwave transmission, demonstrating sustained strength in the face of intensifying competition. The company’s performance was bolstered by its strong presence across multiple key regions, being listed among the top two suppliers in four major regions — a feat unmatched by any other vendor.

The microwave transmission market shows varying dominance by vendors across regions.

In North America, Nokia and Aviat hold a combined revenue share of 56 percent.

Europe sees Ericsson and Huawei leading with a 54 percent share.

The Middle East and Africa have the highest concentration, with Huawei and ZTE controlling 68 percent of the market.

In Asia Pacific, Ceragon and Huawei lead with a 47 percent share.

Latin America is dominated by Huawei and ZTE, who together hold 59 percent.

This regional dominance reinforces Huawei’s reach and strategic investments in MBH solutions tailored for high-growth markets. Its continued leadership reflects both its robust product portfolio and its ability to secure large-scale deployments in challenging environments.

As vendor concentration intensifies due to market consolidation, Huawei’s extensive regional footprint and continued innovation in microwave technology position it well to maintain its leadership in upcoming quarters.
