Hershey Cooperative Telephone delivers fiber-based voice and data with ADTRAN

ADTRAN, a provider of networking solutions,
announced that Hershey Cooperative Telephone and Cable TV, a telecom service
provider in Hershey, Neb., has selected ADTRAN to deliver advanced, GPON-based
voice and data services.

Utilizing ADTRAN’s Total Access 5000,
Hershey will be able to migrate from its legacy networking solution to allow
business and residential customers in the area access to next-generation,
IP-based voice and data services.

The Total Access 5000 provides independent
service providers with a flexible solution for voice, data and video all from a
single platform.

With support for services migration,
broadband and carrier Ethernet services on a common platform, the Total Access
5000 from ADTRAN
keeps capital expenditures to a minimum, dramatically lowers operational
expenses, and enhances performance of the access network.

“ADTRAN’s Total Access 5000 is an ideal
legacy migration solution for independent providers like us because of its
ability to deliver multiple, advanced services from a single platform,” said
Rex Woolley, general manager, Hershey Cooperative Telephone.

The flexibility of the Total Access 5000
allows service providers to continually reinvent their access and transport
networks to meet the growing demands of their subscriber base.

“We recognize that service providers, like
Hershey, have an increasing need to efficiently and cost effectively deploy
next-generation networking and advanced voice and data services, without
stranding their legacy customers,” said Mitch Fleming, regional vice president,
sales, ADTRAN Carrier Networks Division.
