GSA names Joe Barrett as president, Alan Hadden to get new role

Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) today said Joe Barrett will be the new president, while Alan Hadden will be moving to a new role.

Alan Hadden, who has been president since the GSA was established in 1998, will ensure continuity and focus his time for GSA in the new role of vice president, Research.

Joe has been a prominent participant and supporter of GSA since 1999 and represented both Nokia Networks and Qualcomm on the executive committee.

“Wireless innovation is impacting multiple industries and GSA members anticipate opportunities where they will need to be kept fully updated,” said Joe Barrett, president GSA.

GSA has over 66,000 registered website users and tens of thousands of followers on social media who have come to rely on reports and data.

Joe is the founder of VisionComs, a strategic marketing and communications consultancy focusing on marketing programs that target the wireless generation.

Joe has held senior executive positions at Qualcomm Europe, where he launched the Qualcomm Halo Wireless Electric Vehicle Charging brand, at Nokia Networks where he was part of the 3G-business team and at Flarion Technologies helping drive the adoption of its OFDMA 4G technology.
