Ericsson selected by Flat Wireless for CDMA packet core solution

Telecom Lead America: Flat Wireless has selected Ericsson
for CDMA packet core solution.

Network modernization is expected to enable support of
new terminals, enhanced radio and seamless migration to EPC/LTE.

The Ericsson solution will improve network capabilities
for ClearTalk customers in West Texas, Colorado, Arizona and California.

Ericsson said the contract marks the introduction of
Ericsson’s next-generation CDMA Packet Core solution in North America. Ericsson
will also provide consulting and customer support services.

Ericsson’s CDMA Packet Core provides a cost-effective
solution with a proven roadmap for future network migrations.

This new Ericsson platform will enable ClearTalk to
address our current CDMA data needs with the added ability to advance forward
to LTE as our customer demand dictates. We will use this new system to support
our current Ericsson data network and another infrastructure network in our
western networks,” said Tony Sabatino, partner, Flat Wireless.

The CDMA Packet Core provides packet data services to
CDMA subscribers enabling access to Internet and corporate networks.

Ericsson’s CDMA Packet Core solution enables policy
control, advanced charging capabilities, multi access support and a smooth
migration path to EPC/LTE. The architecture of the solution is scalable
allowing operators to expand their nodes when signaling and data traffic
increases with a pay as you grow model.

“As networks become faster and more efficient, it is
critical that all operators evaluate their migration roadmap to next-generation
networks,” said Craig Stein, head of US Regions, Broadband and Media
Customer Unit for Ericsson.
