Ericsson sales drop 4% to $5.9 bn in third-quarter

Ericsson has reported 4 percent drop in sales to SEK 61.794 billion or $5.92 billion during the third-quarter of 2024, reflecting cut in Capex by telecom operators.

Ericsson’s growth was up 55 percent in North America; up 1 percent in Europe and Latin America; down 43 percent in South East Asia, Oceania and India; down 29 percent in North East Asia; down 22 percent in Middle East and Africa.

Ericsson India reported sales of $296 million in Q3 2024.

Main telecom markets of Ericsson are the United States ($2.472 billion), India ($296 million), United Kingdom ($236.8 million), China ($177 million), and Japan ($177.6 million).

Ericsson has generated 44 percent of its total sales from United States, 5 percent from India, 4 percent from United Kingdom, 3 percent from China, and 3 percent from Japan.

Ericsson generated revenue of SEK 20.4 billion from North America; SEK 15.2 billion from Europe and Latin America; SEK 7.7 billion from South East Asia, Oceania and India; SEK 3.7 billion from North East Asia; SEK 4.9 billion from Middle East and Africa.

Ericsson CEO Borje Ekholm said: “We see customer momentum around programmable networks that deliver differentiated performance. We announced JV with 12 of the world’s largest telecom operators. The JV will aggregate network APIs, accelerating commercialization and generating new opportunities for network monetization.”
