Aspire Fiber Secures $80 Million Credit Facility and $75 Million Equity Commitment for California FTTH

Aspire Fiber announced on October 27 that it had secured an $80 million senior secured credit facility to accelerate fiber broadband expansion across Southern California. The financing is led by Third Coast Bank and CIBC. Existing investor Arenova Capital has also increased its equity commitment to $75 million, strengthening the operator’s funding capacity. Aspire is developing underground FTTH infrastructure capable of delivering symmetrical broadband speeds of up to 10 Gbps. Services have launched in Moorpark, while expansion is progressing in Santa Clarita. Additional Southern California markets are included in its development pipeline. The company has not disclosed the number of homes targeted, construction kilometers or the amount of financing already deployed.

Comcast Completes California Fiber Expansion Covering 7,000 Homes with $26 Million Government Support

Comcast announced on October 26 that it had completed broadband network construction across Tulare County, California, extending connectivity to nearly 7,000 previously unserved homes and businesses. The project exceeded its original coverage target and received more than $26 million in funding through the California Public Utilities Commission’s Federal Funding Account program. Comcast also contributed private investment. The completed infrastructure supports symmetrical multi-gigabit broadband services and advanced business connectivity. The expansion covers rural communities where broadband availability has historically been limited. Unlike projects that have only received funding approval, this development represents completed construction and service availability. Comcast has not disclosed the total project cost, installed fiber kilometers or initial subscriber activations.

Gabon Launches 5G Networks Through Airtel and Moov Africa, Targeting Libreville and Port-Gentil

Gabon launched its latest 5G network development program on October 26, with mobile operators Airtel Gabon and Moov Africa Gabon Telecom participating. The launch follows regulatory preparations involving the country’s communications authority, ARCEP, including the allocation of frequencies required for 5G deployment. Initial infrastructure development is concentrated around Greater Libreville and Port-Gentil, with expansion planned across additional regions. Operators are deploying new radio equipment and upgrading existing mobile infrastructure to support higher data speeds and network capacity. The announcement marks a national rollout milestone, although commercial coverage remains geographically limited. Spectrum quantities, investment commitments, 5G site numbers and measured network speeds were not disclosed.
