Ericsson names Helena Norrman as chief marketing and communications officer

Ericsson, as part of improving brand visibility, has named Helena Norrman as its chief marketing and communications officer.

The strategy of Ericsson is to become a software and services centric ICT player.

She will be the head of Group Function Marketing & Communications. Norrman currently holds the position as chief communications officer and will remain member of Ericsson’s executive leadership team.

Ericsson said the formation of a new and stronger marketing and communications function on the group level will drive scale, simplicity and speed throughout its marketing and communications operations.

The new organization will combine resources and responsibilities from current Communications and Marketing operations on group level to efficiently support Ericsson’s market leadership and transformation to becoming a software and services centric ICT player.

“The new marketing and communications function takes on the important task to translate our networked society strategy into effective and efficient global activities to build brand and perception in support of business growth and company transformation,” said Hans Vestberg, president and CEO at Ericsson.

Norrman began her career at Ericsson working with media relations in 1998 and has headed communications within sales and marketing, global internal communications, brand management and global marketing communications.

At Ericsson, Norrman has been involved in the company’s efforts to develop the brand and business strategy.

Norrman will be responsible to translate business strategy into effective global activities to build brand and perception in support of business growth and company transformation.
