Anritsu MD8475A certified by Chinese telecom for roaming tests

Wireless test solutions vendor Anritsu said a Chinese mobile carrier has certified its MD8475A Signalling Tester as a base station simulator for global roaming tests.

Anritsu in a statement said that the MD8475A base station simulator supports LTE LTE-Advanced UE, especially smartphone and tablet, service and communications functions tests. Anritsu did not reveal the name of the telecom operator in China. China Mobile and China Telecom are in the process of expanding their LTE subscriber base in the country.

The company says MD8475A is the first base station simulator to be certified by them for global roaming tests. It is being used for acceptance tests of LTE/LTE-Advanced UE communication module and chipset global roaming functions.

UE, module and chipset makers are using the MD8475A at the development stage for verification and perfection of global roaming functions.

Anritsu is expanding future MD8475A test functions to help further the smooth spread of mobile broadband services in China.

MD8475A Signalling Tester base station simulator platform supports mobile communications standard such as the latest LTE, LTE-Advanced, 3G and 2G standards. The SmartStudio function controls the MD8475A to analyze and run test scenarios while the SmartStudio Manager software can automatically execute test scenarios remotely.
