Alcatel-Lucent sells cyber security biz to Thales

Telecom network vendor Alcatel-Lucent has sold its cyber security services & solutions and the communications security business to Thales.

Alcatel-Lucent did not reveal the financial details.

Earlier, Alcatel-Lucent exited from enterprise business as well.

In May 2014, Alcatel-Lucent and Thales joined hands to offer security solutions to telecoms, utilizing the strength of Thales in cyber security services, and expertise of Alcatel-Lucent’s in secure networks and security features in its telecommunications products.

Thales is committed to provide its expertise to Alcatel-Lucent for its own needs.

Thales will be able to strengthen its position in cyber-security business.

By exiting from cyber security business, Alcatel-Lucent will try to strengthen its position in the field of secure networks and offer network security solutions.

Alcatel-Lucent has nearly 100 resources — mainly based in France and in three other European countries — in the cyber-security services and communications security business.
