Acme Packet unveils new offerings to aid telecom operators to address traffic growth across IP networks

Telecom Lead America: Acme Packet has launched new
offerings to assist service providers to address growth in signaling traffic
across IP communications networks.

These offerings will also assist when telecom service
providers scale their next-generation signaling cores to support LTE and voice
over LTE.

The new solutions from Acme Packet include a new platform
for Acme Packet’s Diameter signaling controller (DSC) and session routing proxy
(SRP) solutions, new features for the DSC, and new management capabilities to
improve planning and troubleshooting for session delivery networks.

“With the Net-Net 7000 series, Acme Packet continues
to deliver scalable solutions with leading control and routing functions,
helping service providers meet the requirements for migrating to the
next-generation of broadband voice and communication services,” said Greg
Collins, founder, Exact Ventures.

Acme Packet claims that its new Net-Net 7000 series is
already helping a number of service provider customers address these challenges
by expanding the capacity and performance of proven SIP and Diameter core
routing products.

“Service providers are facing growing challenges in
SIP and Diameter signaling due to the rising adoption of all-IP networks like
LTE and VoLTE,” said Seamus Hourihan, senior vice president, corporate
strategy, Acme Packet.

The Acme Packet Net-Net 7000, a new platform that
supports Acme Packet’s Net-Net Diameter Director and Net-Net Session Router
products.

Using Acme Packet Server Edition technology, this
platform consists of the Net-Net OS installed on a third-party server for
high-performance processing in a simple, turnkey solution. The Net-Net 7000 is
optimized for scalable core session initiation protocol (SIP) and Diameter
routing, and is capable of processing hundreds of thousands of messages or
transactions per second.
