Xolo’s Intel Atom smartphone unveiled at Rs 19,999

Telecom Lead India: Xolo’s new smartphone — on Intel Atom Processor Z2480 with Hyper-Threading Technology — is priced at Rs 19,999.

When Lava International launched the new smartphone, speed and performance are the two focus areas. The new smartphone is ideal for entertainment lovers.

Intel — in a press release — did not mention about battery life.

Debjani Ghosh, MD, Sales and Marketing Group, Intel India, said: “The launch of the Xolo X1000 builds upon the successful introduction of the first Intel-based smartphone last year, the Xolo X900.”

Intel processors enables users of Xolo X1000 to achieve speeds of 2 GHz. The smartphone features 400 MHz Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) to enable 1080p HD video encoding and playback and render 3D image reproduction. The important features include a 4.7-inch SHARP HD 2.5 D edge curved glass display to enjoy videos and games.

The new smartphone has a 1.3MP front camera as well as features an 8MP camera with advanced imaging capabilities like a burst mode which operates at 15 frames per second (FPS).

Vishal Sehgal, co-founder & director, Lava International, said, “With Xolo X1000 and its 2Ghz Intel HT processor, the customers will get to experience a new definition of speed and performance.”

Xolo first smartphone — X900 — launched in April last year offered better speed and performance offering the first 1.6GHz Intel HT processors. Earlier this year, Lava International launched Xolo X500, targeting mobile users in the sub 10K price segment.

Despite a series of launches, Lava International is to find a place in top 5 phone makers in India.
