Samsung launches GALAXY S Duos and GALAXY Y Duos Lite, announces Smart Deal with Reliance

Telecom Lead India: Samsung has launched GALAXY S -Duos (GT-S7562) and GALAXY Y -Duos Lite (GT-S5302) dual SIM phones in India.

 The Samsung Galaxy S Duos is priced at Rs 17,900 while Samsung GALAXY Y Duos Lite is priced at Rs. 6990.

 Samsung GALAXY S Duos is powered by a 1GHz CPU processor and runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The device has a large 4.0″ 480×800 (WVGA) TFT displays. The GALAXY S Duos comes with a powerful 1500 mAh battery and a 5MP AF + VGA Front / LED Flash camera.

 The GALAXY S Duos is pre loaded with ChatOn messenger and a host of applications like ‘My Music’ , ‘My Movies’ and ‘Handy’.  Users can also download ‘My Education’ from the Samsung Mobile Application Store. The app offers more than 10000 FREE videos that have been curated by teachers and is the largest collection of educational videos mapped to the Indian curriculum.

 Samsung GALAXY Y Duos Lite is positioned as ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ or “My first smartphone”.  Featuring a slim and compact body, the phone features 832 MHz processor and is based on the Android Ginger Bread OS and Wi-Fi b/g/n. The device supports all the latest Google Mobile SVCs & Applications with Gingerbread OS.

 Samsung also partnered with Reliance to offer a “˜Smart Deal’ of 1 GB 3G data or Unlimited 2G data free per month for six months for all Samsung Galaxy Y Duos Lite buyers.

 “At Samsung, we are seeking to fuel the growth of the Dual SIM market in India by launching our innovative, DUAL SIM Smartphones .With the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S Duos and Galaxy Y Duos Lite , we are seeking to democratize the Smartphone market in India,” said Asim Warsi, VP, Samsung Mobile.

 The Dual-SIM segment today contributes more than 50 percent of the total Mobile Volume sales in the country, according to Warsi.

 With the launch of these two new Smartphones, Samsung now offers a wide range of 5 Dual -SIM Smartphones and a total of 13 Smartphone models priced in the range between Rs.6990 to Rs 42,500.
