Samsung adds Stay New plan to stop smartphone migration to rivals

Smartphone leader Samsung India has devised a new strategy to ensure that its loyal customers are not shifting to rivals such as Nokia, Apple, Micromax, HTC, Sony, LG, Lenovo, etc.

Samsung India’s Stay New plan allows smartphone customers to switch to a new phone by upgrade plans. Samsung in association with HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Citibank and Standard Chartered offers EMI schemes.

Vineet Taneja, country head, Samsung Mobiles & IT said: “The launch of the Stay New plan reasserts Samsung’s commitment to make premium Samsung smartphone experience more accessible and affordable.”

Samsung is targeting a significant number of new users joining the Samsung family with this category leading initiative.

As per the new scheme, mobile phone users can opt for a 18-month EMI program and Easy Buy Back.

Samsung-Galaxy-S4

Samsung fans can select smartphones such as Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 2, Samsung S4, Samsung S4 Mini, Samsung S3, Galaxy Tab 3 and Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Customers can buy any of these smartphones through participating banks’ credit card and avail the Samsung’s easy 18- month EMI scheme, at applicable interest rates.

For instance, the monthly EMI — under this program – for Galaxy S4 will be Rs 2,466.

The EMI for S4 Mini will be Rs 1500 per month.

Users can upgrade to the latest Samsung Galaxy devices after six months by using the Easy BuyBack service.

The Stay New plan will be rolled out in stores across the country from 1 January to 31 March, 2014.

Easy Buy Back service is powered by Ingram Micro. Under this service, the user can sell back the current Samsung device, by calling up Ingram Micro’s toll free number within 6 to 12 months of purchasing the product. Post evaluation of the product, a buyback price will be informed to the customer.

On accepting the instant offer of the best price, the device will be collected from the location of customer’s choice and the agreed upon amount will be transferred directly into the customer’s account. Hence, the customer can upgrade to the latest Galaxy smartphone by easily selling off their used Galaxy device.
