HTC today announced two mid-range Android smartphones — HTC Desire 816 and HTC Desire 610 — at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014.
The Taiwanese smartphone vendor did not announce the price.
While HTC Desire 816 will be available in April, HTC Desire 610 will hit the stands in May in select telecom markets.
“The HTC Desire 816 marks the beginning of an exciting new era for the mid-tier,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC.
Desire 816 comes with a new-look.
HTC’s dual-frontal speakers, HTC BoomSound for audio quality, HTC BlinkFeed are part of Desire 816, HTC said.
HTC Desire 816 features 13MP rear camera with HTC Zoe, automatic highlight videos and 5MP front camera, 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 720 X 1280p, 8GB internal storage expandable through a microSD card, 1.5GB RAM and 2,600mAh battery.
HTC Desire 816 is powered by 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad core processor.
HTC Desire 610 features 4.7-inch qHD (540 X 960p) display, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage expandable through a microSD card, 8MP rear camera that can capture 720p video, 1.3MP front camera and 2,040mAh battery.
HTC Desire 610 is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon.
Both phones come with Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity options and support for 4G LTE.
