Lenovo targets Vibe X smartphone to become its popular brand in India

Smartphone vendor Lenovo on Tuesday announced the introduction of Vibe X smartphone in India and said it will be aiming to take the new brand to become the most popular device in India.

The latest smartphone from the world’s fourth largest smartphone vendor is priced at Rs 25,999 in the India mobile phone market.

Key features of the 5 inch Vibe X smartphone, which is 6.9 mm thin with weight of 121 grams, include 5 MP front camera, 13MP back camera, 20/20 * vision display with a 1920×1080 full HD resolution, 440 pixels per inch (PPI), Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen, Android 4.2 operating system, 2GB of memory, 16GB of internal storage, etc.

Amar Babu, managing director, Lenovo India, said: “Globally, we have emerged as the #4 smartphone brand. In India, we have made an interesting beginning and we expect our growth trajectory to continue with the introduction of newer models.”

Vibe X comes with apps such as Lenovo’s SHAREit, which enables phone-to-phone data transfer in the fastest possible way. At about 4 Mbps, users can exchange pictures, large videos, and complete folders and even share apps without using any data cable or Wi-Fi hub.

Lenovo’s ultimate goal is to use innovation to differentiate Lenovo and become a leading PC+ brand.

The device vendor is pushing the Vibe X model to become a popular choice in the Indian market where consumers look for intelligent performance in a slim and light package.

Sudhin Mathur, director-Smartphones, Lenovo India, said the Vibe series establishes Lenovo’s focus on ergonomics and aesthetics in smartphones.

Lenovo has introduced its smartphones into select markets such as India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Ukraine.
