Telecom Lead India: LG Electronics has priced LG Optimus L9 smartphone in India at Rs 23,000.
The company is launching the new smartphone after ending the Diwali festival season in the country. During Diwali, companies such as Samsung, Micromax, HTC, Nokia, among others, have launched new smartphones targeting the festival season.
LG’s marketing strategies have already affected its market share in India.
According to CyberMedia Research, LG is not in top 3 list of smartphone vendors in the Indian mobile market. Samsung, Nokia and Research In Motion (RIM) are the top 3 smartphone vendors in India.

Features of LG Optimus L9 smartphone
1 Ghz dual-core processor
4.7 inch IPS display
Android 4.0 ICS
2150 mAh battery
Industry analysts say the price tag of Rs 23,000 for these above features may not be worth since LG’s rivals are selling smartphones with almost the same features at lower prices.
LG did not share details of battery life.

According to a recent report, smartphone uptake has continued its strong momentum in all regions of the world, with around 40 percent of all mobile phones sold in Q3 2012 being smartphones. Asia Pacific including India had the largest share of the total mobile data traffic in 2012.
Industry analysts forecast the smartphone market in India to grow at a CAGR of 116.4 percent over the period of 2012-2015. The steep growth in the smartphone market has had a major effect on the way we use the internet.
