Telecom Lead Asia: Chinese mobile phone maker Gionee has officially announced the entry into Indian market with the launch of its Dream D1 ultra slim smartphone priced at INR 17,999.
By steping into the fast growing smartphone market in India, the Chinese mobile maker expects to make windfall gains. However, to succeed in this fiercely competitive market, Gionee will have to device innovative strategies and devices that can appeal middle-income Indian smartphone users.
The Chinese phone maker, however, is likely to pose a major threat to Huawei, which is currently the No.1 Chinese mobile phone brand in India.
The Dream-D1 has been priced at INR 17,999 for Indian consumers.
The ultra slim D1 at 8.6 mm is powered with 1.2 GHz Quad Core Processor.
Other important features: 4.65” Inch HD Super AMOLED Plus display, advance scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and super smooth multi – touch interface with an Android OS v4.1 Jelly Bean, and 316 PPi screen resolution gives excellent screen clarity.
Dream-D1 has an 8 Mega Pixel Auto Focus, Auto panorama (99 pictures in one click) with LED flashback camera. It also features HD Video recording option and a 1 Mega PixelFront facing camera.
The Dual Sim, Dual Standby Dream-D1 is powered by a 2100 mAh battery to provide an exceptional backup. With an in-built Digital Theatre System (DTS) Sound Dream-D1 guarantees to deliver breathtaking multimedia experience.
The OTA (Over the Air) function allows for software upgrades ensuring your Smart Phone stays SMART with the latest Operating System.
Gionee Dream-D1 will be available in Graphite Black color and comes bundled with a 16 GB Memory card along with an in-built 4 GB memory.
D1 will be available at leading mobile retail outlets across the country in the second half of March 2013.
