Tech giant Apple has unveiled its iPhone 16 series, featuring larger displays, improved battery life, and new camera innovations.
Powered by the A18 Pro chip, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models come with a new 48MP Fusion camera, supporting 4K120 fps video recording in Dolby Vision.
Available in titanium finishes — black, natural, white, and desert — iPhone 16Pro models offer storage capacities ranging from 128GB to 1TB.
A TrendForce report earlier said Apple’s four new iPhone models are expected to have a combined production volume of 86.7 million units in the second half of 2024, marking an 8 percent year-on-year increase.
PRICE
The price of Apple’s iPhone 16 starts at $799 (U.S.) or $33.29 (U.S.) per month, and iPhone 16 Plus starts at $899 (U.S.) or $37.45 (U.S.) per month.
Smartphone customers who purchase iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will receive three free months of Apple Music, Apple Arcade, and Apple Fitness+ with a new subscription, Apple said.
In India, the iPhone 16 Pro starts at Rs 119,900, while the Pro Max is priced at Rs 144,900. Pre-orders in India begin on September 13, with availability from September 20.
Leading US telecom operators such as AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon said they are offering attractive deals to smartphone customers who can pre-order iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
All the latest iPhone models will be available in China.
Apple’s Senior VP Greg Joswiak, said the iPhone 16 series marks a significant leap forward, providing users with enhanced photo editing and professional-grade video capabilities.
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will be available in various colors, starting at a price of Rs 79,900 and Rs 89,900, respectively, with the same pre-order and release dates in India.
Apple Watch Series 10
Apple revealed the Apple Watch Series 10, which offers new health features, including sleep apnea notifications, faster charging, and advanced fitness tracking.
The price of Apple Watch Series 10 starts at $399 (U.S.). The price of Apple Watch SE is available starting at $249 (U.S.). New Apple Watch bands will be available to order today from apple.com/store and in the Apple Store app, with availability in stores beginning Friday, September 20.
Available in aluminum and titanium, the Series 10 starts at Rs 46,900, with the Watch SE priced at Rs 24,900. Pre-orders start September 13, with availability from September 20.
The new Apple Watch Ultra 2, featuring an improved GPS system and the brightest display in any Apple product, is also set to hit stores soon.
Additionally, AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 2 will be available for pre-order, starting at Rs 12,900 and Rs 24,900, respectively, with availability from September 20.
Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence, its personal intelligence system, will start rolling out next month with iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, with more features launching in the coming months.
Apple Intelligence will be available as a free software update. The first set of Apple Intelligence features will be available in beta next month. It will be available on iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPad and Mac with M1 and later.
