NXP, the largest producer of chips for cars, aims to integrate TTTech Auto’s safety-focused middleware, which ensures seamless software updates and critical function reliability. The acquisition strengthens NXP’s offerings as automakers increasingly prioritize software over hardware in vehicle design.

Jens Hinrichsen, NXP’s automotive embedded systems general manager, stated that the deal positions the company as a leading provider of intelligent edge systems for cars. Upon approval, TTTech Auto’s Vienna-based operations, including its management and 1,100 employees, will join NXP’s automotive division.
