Brazilian Navy Tests Private 4G Network Integrating LTE, Satellite and Mission-Critical Radio
Brazil’s federal telecommunications infrastructure initiative has completed a private 4G network demonstration supporting the Brazilian Navy. Reported on October 21, the project was coordinated by the Entidade Administradora da Faixa, with participation from Motorola Solutions and government agencies. The deployment combines 4G LTE, P25 land-mobile radio, mission-critical communications and low-Earth-orbit satellite connectivity. Testing connected personnel on land, the moving naval vessel Bahia and remote locations across multiple Brazilian states. The architecture includes a primary data center in Brasília and a redundant facility at the Navy’s Ilha do Governador base. A one-year operational pilot is planned to evaluate performance, interoperability and resilience. Contract value, spectrum bandwidth and network capacity were not disclosed.
Teltronic Deploys Rapid Private 5G Network for Spanish Military Communications
Teltronic has deployed a rapid private 5G communications system supporting the Spanish Armed Forces’ Atlas26 exercise. Reported on October 22, the deployment demonstrates the use of dedicated mobile infrastructure for tactical communications, broadband connectivity and operational coordination. The system supports real-time video transmission, command-and-control communications and information exchange between participating military units. Teltronic worked within an ecosystem that included Spanish defense organizations and technology company Amper. The deployment illustrates how portable private 5G infrastructure can support communications in environments where conventional public mobile networks may be unavailable or unsuitable. Publicly disclosed information does not establish the number of radio sites, spectrum bandwidth, measured speeds, equipment investment or wider deployment commitments.
Dobson Fiber Completes Three Oklahoma Rural Broadband Projects Covering 407 Locations
Dobson Fiber has completed three broadband expansion projects in Oklahoma, extending high-speed connectivity to 407 homes and businesses. The completed infrastructure serves communities around Canute and Foss in Washita County, Headrick in Jackson County and Keota in Haskell County. The projects received $623,869 in government funding through the American Rescue Plan Act Capital Projects Fund. The deployments target rural areas where commercial broadband investment has historically been limited. Completion represents operational infrastructure rather than preliminary grant approval or proposed construction. Dobson Fiber is majority-owned by infrastructure investor iCON Infrastructure. The operator has not disclosed the projects’ total construction expenditure, installed fiber kilometers, subscriber activation numbers or detailed transmission-capacity specifications.
Ziply Fiber Activates New FTTH Networks in Idaho and Washington with Speeds Up to 50 Gbps
Ziply Fiber has announced service availability across three separate fiber deployments in the Pacific Northwest. In Harrison, Idaho, approximately 200 locations can access the new network. In Cascade, Idaho, the first 250 premises are connected to an expansion targeting approximately 850 locations. In Benton City, Washington, the operator’s announcement confirms initial service availability while additional construction continues. Ziply offers symmetrical fiber broadband with advertised service tiers ranging from 100 Mbps to 50 Gbps, depending on location and eligibility. The projects extend the operator’s network into smaller communities previously dependent on older broadband infrastructure. The company has not disclosed individual construction costs, installed fiber distances or total subscriber activations.
