Next-Gen Broadband Boost: Teleste and Vecima Unveil Open DAA Solution for European Operators

Teleste and Vecima Networks have announced a strategic partnership to deliver an open, interoperable Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) solution for European cable operators. The collaboration combines Vecima’s cloud-native Entra virtualized CMTS platform with Teleste’s Remote PHY node portfolio and regional sales and support capabilities. The solution is designed to help operators scale broadband capacity, improve network flexibility, and reduce operational complexity as demand for high-speed connectivity grows across Europe. By supporting open standards and virtualization, the joint offering enables smoother network evolution while helping operators modernize infrastructure more efficiently and cost-effectively.

Globalstar’s Next Space Leap: SpaceX Mission Set to Boost Satellite Connectivity Worldwide

Globalstar has announced that its HIBLEO-4 replenishment satellites are scheduled to launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on May 17 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The mission is designed to strengthen Globalstar’s low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation, improving network reliability and ensuring uninterrupted satellite communication services worldwide. CEO Dr. Paul E. Jacobs called the launch an important milestone in maintaining dependable connectivity for customers across industries. The satellite replenishment effort also supports the company’s long-term expansion plans as global demand rises for advanced satellite communications, IoT connectivity, and direct-to-device services powered by next-generation space infrastructure.

Allerium Bets Big on Canada’s Emergency Future with New NG9-1-1 Innovation Hub

Comtech subsidiary Allerium has expanded its Canadian operations with a new facility in Gatineau, Quebec, aimed at advancing Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) emergency communications services. The purpose-built center will support call handling operations, enhance collaboration, and strengthen public safety infrastructure across Canada and international markets. Backed by the City of Gatineau and the Province of Quebec, the move also aligns with the redevelopment of Allerium’s previous site into a police services facility. The expansion follows multiple NG9-1-1 deployments across Canada this year, reinforcing Allerium’s growing role in modernizing emergency response systems while creating new technology and public safety jobs in the region.
