Aduna and Major US Carriers Introduce Secure Network-Based Authentication to Replace SMS Codes
Aduna has partnered with AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon to introduce a network-based authentication solution that offers a more secure alternative to SMS one-time passcodes. The new Number Verification service authenticates users by confirming their mobile number, SIM card, and device directly through the carrier’s network, helping reduce risks from AI-powered identity theft, phishing, and SIM-swapping attacks. Unlike traditional SMS codes, the solution delivers seamless, possession-based authentication without requiring users to enter verification codes. The launch marks a significant step toward modernizing digital identity verification across the US mobile ecosystem while enabling businesses to strengthen security and improve customer authentication experiences.
