Phoenix Tower International (PTI) has completed the acquisition of approximately 3,700 telecom sites from Bouygues Telecom and SFR’s Infracos joint venture in France, marking a major infrastructure investment that expands its French portfolio to nearly 10,000 sites. The deal strengthens PTI’s ability to deliver innovative, scalable tower solutions that support accelerating 5G deployment and network densification. By investing in high-quality passive infrastructure, PTI enables mobile operators to improve coverage, capacity, and service reliability while reducing deployment costs and time to market.

AST SpaceMobile Unleashes BlueBird 6: The Largest Satellite Array to Bring 4G/5G to Any Smartphone

AST SpaceMobile has successfully launched BlueBird 6, the next-generation satellite boasting the largest commercial communications array ever in low Earth orbit, via ISRO’s LVM3 rocket from India. The satellite aims to deliver direct-to-cellular 4G and 5G broadband to standard smartphones without specialized hardware, greatly improving connectivity in underserved and remote regions. BlueBird 6 offers higher capacity and performance than previous models, reflecting the company’s strong investment in innovation and scalable infrastructure.

India Boosts Emergency Response with Pert Telecom’s Android Location Service

Pert Telecom Solutions has deployed Google’s Android Emergency Location Service (ELS) in India, starting with the Uttar Pradesh 112 emergency system. The service uses GPS, Wi‑Fi, cellular signals, and device sensors to automatically provide high‑accuracy location data to emergency responders during calls or SMS, improving response times.
