Niagara Networks Revolutionizes Mobile Network Monitoring with Subscriber-Aware Virtual Packet Broker

Niagara Networks launched a virtual Network Packet Broker (vNPB) with Mobile Visibility. The platform enables subscriber-aware monitoring by correlating control-plane (GTP-C) and user-plane (GTP-U) traffic. Telecom operators can identify subscriber sessions across roaming, mobility, and VoLTE. The vNPB delivers filtered and load-balanced traffic streams to security, analytics, and performance tools. It supports session-based steering, GTP tunnel handling, and traffic aggregation. The system allows subscriber-level policies and tool assignment. Mobile Visibility operates in virtual environments and integrates with existing monitoring infrastructure. Niagara Networks positions the solution for operators managing high data volumes across 4G and 5G networks

Comcast and Harmonic Drive Fiber Broadband Expansion with Virtualized Platform

Comcast is partnering with Harmonic to expand fiber broadband access. The collaboration uses Harmonic’s cOS platform to deploy fiber-based services integrated with Comcast’s existing coaxial infrastructure. This setup enables fiber rollout, including rural areas under BEAD-funded projects. The cOS platform supports strategic deployment of remote switches and optical line terminals (OLT), connecting customers to Comcast’s network efficiently. Harmonic’s virtual Broadband Network Gateway (vBNG) and Jetty Remote Switch with Fin Remote OLT in Ripple DAA nodes simplify network operations and reduce costs. This integration allows DOCSIS and fiber to coexist on a virtualized broadband platform, delivering multi-gigabit speeds, low latency, and reliable connectivity. Harmonic’s cOS platform currently supports over 35 million customer devices worldwide.

Go!Foton Unveils New Fiber Solutions to Boost MSO Networks at SCTE Expo 2025

Go!Foton will present fiber connectivity solutions at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2025 in Washington, D.C., from September 29 to October 1. The company will demonstrate products designed to enhance efficiency and scalability for MSO (Multiple System Operator) networks. Key solutions include the Mid-Size PEACOC Multiport Mid-Span Terminal, which supports up to 12 drop ports, allowing scalable connectivity. The combination of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) with PEACOC spreadable adapter technology provides increased bandwidth and fiber density. The PEACOC 360 Spooling Fiber Patch Panel offers 100 feet of integrated cordage for deployment flexibility in network applications.
