Google Cloud and Verizon Expand Gemini Enterprise AI Partnership
Google Cloud and Verizon have formed a partnership to scale enterprise AI, modernize customer engagement and develop autonomous network operations. Verizon will deploy Google Cloud’s full AI stack, including Gemini Enterprise, advanced infrastructure, data management and custom business agents. Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience already handles the majority of Verizon’s inbound consumer calls and chats each month, improving customer satisfaction and automated resolution. Google Cloud will support an autonomous network-intelligence framework designed to predict and resolve anomalies before customers are affected. Verizon will also apply AI to marketing automation, campaign orchestration, employee productivity, security and risk governance. Ericsson Wins 2 Global Awards for Enterprise 5G and Vehicle Networks
Ericsson received 2 Global Product Leadership recognitions from Frost & Sullivan in 2026, covering enterprise 5G Wireless WAN and in-vehicle network infrastructure. The awards assess companies across 2 core dimensions: strategy effectiveness and strategy execution. Ericsson was recognized for secure, high-performance connectivity supporting branches, industrial sites, public-safety organizations, transportation systems and fleet operations. Its unified enterprise platform combines Wireless WAN, Private 5G, edge capabilities, zero-trust security and cellular-centric SD-WAN. The architecture integrates connectivity, centralized management, security and operational intelligence, helping enterprises reduce deployment complexity and improve network resilience. Frost & Sullivan also highlighted Ericsson’s carrier relationships, standardized support and ecosystem. Early investment in AI and agentic AI automation across public and private cellular networks could strengthen its enterprise networking position.
Viettel Secures 240 MHz Spectrum for Dominican Republic 4G and 5G
Viettel is entering the Dominican Republic, its 11th international telecom market, after more than 2 decades of overseas investment experience across 10 markets in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Under Resolution No. 073-2026, issued on August 19, Viettel Global secured 240 MHz of spectrum across the 700 MHz, 2.3 GHz and 3.6 GHz bands for 20 years. The concession agreement must be signed within 90 days. Viettel plans extensive 4G and 5G infrastructure covering underserved and remote communities. Seven of its 10 overseas operators lead their markets by mobile subscribers. International revenue reached $3.34 billion in 2025, rising 23.9 percent and marking 9 consecutive years of double-digit growth. Viettel won 30 awards in 2026, including 21 for overseas operations, among 3,800 participating organizations.
