Asia-Pacific Fixed Wireless Broadband Connections Forecast to Reach 50 Million by 2031

New research released on October 29 projects that fixed wireless access subscriptions across Asia-Pacific will increase from approximately 28 million in 2026 to 50 million by 2031. The forecast represents a compound annual growth rate of 12.5 percent. Expanding 5G coverage, demand for home broadband and the high cost of deploying fiber in certain locations are expected to support growth. Operators including U Mobile in Malaysia and MyRepublic Indonesia are expanding wireless broadband offerings to reach additional households. The forecast suggests that mobile network capacity planning and spectrum efficiency will become increasingly important as FWA adoption rises. These figures represent projected subscriptions rather than announced network construction or confirmed future customer additions.
