Telecom Lead Europe: Shenzhen-based ZTE Corporation, a
telecommunications equipment provider, through its Chilean subsidiary, has
associated with Universidad Chile to open an innovation and training center.
Under the deal, ZTE Chile will provide 4G equipments to
the center and the Universidad de Chile’s Faculty of Mathematical and Physical
Sciences will provide human capital and laboratories.
The announcement was made in the presence of Chinese
Premier Wen Jiabao and Chilean President Sebastián Piñera.
The university and ZTE will also ink an MOU to expand the
functions of innovation center to include training for ZTE engineers and
Universidad de Chile students.
“The establishment of this innovation center with
the Universidad de Chile is an important step forward for innovation in Latin
America,” said ZTE University President Zeng Li.
The Chinese telecom gear maker said that the Chilean
training center will meet the demand for knowledge services.
Furthermore, the center will provide customized expertise
for ZTE’s partners in Chile and neighboring countries, with a view to
developing ZTE University in Latin America.
ZTE to set up European regional NOC in Hungary for 10 million
euros
ZTE recently announced that it will set up European
Regional Network Operation Centre (NOC) in Budapest, Hungary.
ZTE will invest up to 10 million euros in the next two to
three years.
