XL Axiata selects CSG Systems to deploy single mediation solution for mobile billing services

Telecom Lead Asia: XL Axiata, one of Indonesia’s largest
mobile network operators, has selected BSS major CSG Systems International to
implement a single mediation solution for prepaid and postpaid services.

This is a major contract for CSG Systems in the Asia
Pacific telecom market.

Mobile operators such as Aircel, Celcom, Maxis, Reliance Communications,
SingTel Optus, True Move, Telstra, Mastercard, DHL and more are already using
CSG TSM.

CSG Total Service Mediation (TSM) enables the Indonesian
telecom operator to replace multiple legacy mediation systems and support
online processing for billions of events per day, at throughput rates of over
46,000 transactions per second.

Consolidating to a single mediation solution will enable
XL to simplify operations, improve revenue management and lower the total cost
of ownership for mediation while supporting growth up to 19 billion voice and
data transactions a day.

XL has over 46 million subscribers in Indonesia.

Ian Watterson, CSG International’s Vice President and
Managing Director, Asia Pacific, said TSM will manage pre- and postpaid charging
events for billions of customer transactions per day while offering the level
of flexibility required by XL in order to meet their unique and demanding
revenue assurance requirements.

CSG claims that its TSM solution has built a global
reputation for excellence as a cost-effective but highly robust solution that
can give telecom operators like XL the fast time to value they need.

Dian Siswarini, director of technology, Content & New
Business XL, said XL was looking for a solution that would provide the company
with better operational management and improve business processes.

XL Axiata selected CSG on the basis of high performance,
proven scalability with huge volumes, best-in-class ease of use and in-region
support.

CSG’s TSM provides online and offline mediation in a
single solution, simplifying XL’s system architecture and back office
operations. The solution is deployed in a highly available N+1 architecture
which ensures no revenue data is lost.

XSG TSM has over 200 installations worldwide. CSG clients
rely on CSG TSM to support mediation in a wide variety of service delivery
networks, with the reliability and security needed for revenue management or
other business-critical applications.
