Viva plans real-time billing, taps Comverse

Telecom Lead @ Mobile World Congress 2013: Dominican Republic operator Trilogy Dominicana (Viva) has deployed Comverse ONE Billing & Active Customer Management solution for Real-Time Billing.

Comverse ONE’s unified view of subscriber account information and real-time authorization, rating, charging and balance management for voice, data and other value-added services positions Viva to enhance its market offerings, improve the user experience, and achieve significant Opex reduction.

Mario Campos, vice president at Viva, said: “Since going live, Viva Dominicana has benefited from harnessing real-time marketing capabilities across our multi-service portfolio, enhanced data support to better monetize our data services, and leveraged capabilities to simplify and accelerate new offers.”

Viva aims at enhancing user experience by introducing targeted / personalized services, offers and promotions. Moreover, by leveraging the solution’s roaming and calling card capabilities, the mobile operator is responding to opportunities created by the large numbers of tourists visiting the country.

Additional Comverse services, including SMS and MMS (text and multimedia messaging) and Mobile Internet, are helping Viva to boost profitability and fuel growth in its competitive market.

Trilogy International Partners invests in wireless telecommunication operations in international markets that exhibit strong opportunities for significant growth.

Trilogy currently provides wireless communications services through its operating companies in New Zealand, Bolivia, and the Dominican Republic. These businesses hold licenses to provide wireless communications services to over 4 million people. In addition to wireless services, the operating companies are also authorized to provide termination and origination of international long distance, public telephony and mobile data services.
