Telecom Lead India: Tulip Telecom has signed Rs 87.23
crore deal with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) for
hosting data centre space for its Unique ID project Adhaar.
Tulip Telecom has signed several deals with thea
government.
Recently, Tulip Telecom bagged a large managed services
contract for a Science and Technology body under the Department of Information
Technology of Indian Government.
As part of the agreement with UIDAI, Tulip Telecom will
host UIDAI servers from Tulip Data City based out of Bangalore. The duration of
this project is for 3 years and is extendable further.
Through this partnership, Tulip will provide data center
space to UIDAI to host IT infrastructure that will power the world’s largest
database. In addition to the data centre space, Tulip will also be providing a
support area for UIDAI

Tulip Data City, Bangalore is the World’s third largest
and Asia’s largest data center. The facility will offer up to 900,000 sq feet
of total data center space with a total planned power capacity of 100 MW. The
multi-tiered facility provides customers with both tier 4 and tier 3 data
center spaces.
Tulip Telecom income up 15% to Rs 2705 crore in FY2012
Recently, Tulip Telecom posted revenues of Rs 2705.1
crore in fiscal 2011-12, up 15.1 percent over FY11. Tulip Telecom’s revenues in
Q4 2011-12 were Rs 662 crore, up 3.7 percent over the same quarter of previous
fiscal.
