RMI completes RailConnect Transportation Management System implementation for RailAmerica

RMI announced that it has completed the 18-month-long
implementation of RailConnect TMS for RailAmerica, migrating all RailAmerica
railroads to RMI’s paperless” railroad transportation management system
without any disruption in rail service.

Automated processing, mobile delivery, and ease-of-use
are key features that led RailAmerica to choose RailConnect TMS for
transportation management. RailAmerica has deployed RailConnect TMS for all
aspects of train operations control, work order management, and revenue settlement.

RailAmerica has also deployed RailConnect mCrew for
mobile reporting of train operations in the field. In addition, RailAmerica
selected RMI’s ShipperConnect Rail Carrier Interface to streamline
communications with customers and expedite car ordering and handling
instructions, provide real-time visibility on railcars and shipments, and
eliminate errors and manual processing.

With Project Horizon and RMI we achieve an unprecedented
level of technological automation. Work that once required human intervention
and hours to complete now gets done in a matter of seconds. Reams and reams of
paper and faxes have been entirely eliminated. In short, we’re doing more and
we are doing it faster,” said John Giles, president and CEO, RailAmerica.

Working with the RailAmerica team, RMI began the
implementation with Alabama & Gulf Coast Railway in Monroeville, Ala., in
April, 2010, and finalized the implementation in May 2011 with the Toledo,
Peoria and Western Railway in East Peoria, Ill.

We are extremely pleased that RailAmerica, our valued
partner, chose RMI’s RailConnect TMS system to increase their operating
efficiency with the automation and ease-of-use that our solutions offer. I
couldn’t be more proud of the RMI staff that showed an unwavering dedication to
ensuring that the implementation, which took months of planning and
implementation, was 100-percent successful and met RailAmerica’s needs,” said
Pete Kleifgen, chairman and CEO, RMI.
