MTS Russia taps iBasis for LTE roaming

Telecom service provider MTS Russia has selected iBasis as the primary provider of IPX services to enable LTE roaming.

iBasis, a KPN company, in a statement said that through the IPX interconnect, iBasis is providing multiple services including GRX, covering both 2G/3G and LTE data roaming, as well as the iBasis LTE Signaling Exchange (LSX) service for the exchange of Diameter signaling between LTE networks.

iBasis

iBasis LTE Signaling eXchange (LSX) service provides a single point of access to iBasis’ live 4G (LTE) signaling network with Diameter Routing Agents in key locations and complemented with 2G and 3G MAP Signaling interworking services to non-LTE networks.

In addition, through direct connections to many mobile operators’ LTE networks and its open peering policy, iBasis delivers a global LTE Roaming footprint that reaches approximately 60 LTE networks. In addition, iBasis offers a trial environment for testing LTE interworking and roaming scenarios.
