Mobile security provider AirWatch to double manpower in India

Telecom Lead India:  AirWatch, a provider of
mobile security, device management, application management and content
management, is planning to increase its India presence.

The company will double its manpower in India to 150 in
the next one year from the present 75. AirWatch’s Bangalore center of
excellence will be expanded in line with expansion of resources.

The company will also be adding marketing and sales team
in India.

AirWatch will increase its headcount in Asia Pacific to
250 from 100 during the same period, John Marshall, CEO, AirWatch told
TelecomLead.com.

Besides Indian mobile market, China, Singapore,
Australia, New Zealand and Japan are its key markets in the Asia Pacific
region.

AirWatch is currently working with Vodafone India.

As part of its global alliance, Vodafone UK has added
Vodafone Secure Device Manager for enterprises to its growing portfolio of
security solutions. This software is designed to allow businesses to connect
mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, to their corporate networks
simply and securely.

Vodafone Secure Device Manager reduces security risks and
allows businesses to ensure their employees are complying with company policy.
It can be deployed through the cloud or as an on-premise solution, allowing
businesses to control costs without compromising on security.

Talks and trials are on with a number of telecom
operators in the country to introduce AirWatch solutions.

The AirWatch solution provides a full set of
mobile security, MDM, MAM and MCM features, including the most accessible,
easy-to-use web- and mobile-based management console; a Secure Content Locker;
a Secure Email Gateway; an AirWatch App Catalog.

Recently, AirWatch entered into an association with
Entrust, a provider of identity-based security solutions to develop an
innovative solution for securing large enterprise networks.

This collaboration will help in advancing access for
Entrust PKI, Managed Service and IdentityGuard users who can then useAirWatch’s
Software as a Service (SaaS), appliance-based or on-premise solutions.

Last year, AirWatch launched HTML5-based MDM
platform, providing AirWatch’s management console users with a more
powerful, faster and efficient end-user experience.
