Telecom Lead Team:
Lenovo and Polycom announced their
agreement to deliver Polycom RealPresence HD video and HD
Voice solutions on Lenovo laptops and tablets.

Together,
Lenovo and Polycom will develop innovative solutions that optimize and embed
Polycom RealPresence video collaboration solutions on Lenovo laptops and
tablets to deliver high-quality collaboration experiences to end-users from any
location.

“Our
customers choose Lenovo computing products as part of a complete technology
solution, and by embedding Polycom RealPresence video collaboration software in
our devices, we’re delivering extra value to customers by allowing them to
easily collaborate face-to-face with anyone from anywhere,” said Rich
Cheston, distinguished engineer and master inventor, Lenovo.

Lenovo
is embedding Polycom technology in its ThinkPad T, X, L, and W Series.

“Embedded
delivery of Polycom video collaboration software on industry leading devices,
such as Lenovo, adds a new and critical route to market for Polycom. This
collaboration underscores Polycom’s focus and commitment to deliver the most
advanced and innovative unified communications and video solutions to enable
employees to collaborate with colleagues, customers, experts, and partners from
wherever they work or travel,” said Sudhakar Ramakrishna, chief development
officer, Polycom.

Both
the companies are also planning to deliver Polycom-powered solutions that embed
select Lenovo desktops, laptops, and tablets with Polycom RealPresence HD video
and HD Voice collaboration software.

Lenovo
will also resell Polycom’s personal and group communication accessories
worldwide to help customers achieve a complete communications solution.

The
companies are also working to embed Polycom-powered software on Lenovo products
to extend powerful HD video collaboration beyond the conference room.

Lenovo’s
ThinkPad T, X, L, and W Series laptops are currently being tested to be
Polycom-ready with additional devices, such as the ThinkPad Tablet,
expected in 1H 2012.

Polycom launched the Polycom RealPresence Platform in the month of September
last year. The platform is a comprehensive software infrastructure for
universal video collaboration.
