Juniper Networks’ revenue up 2% to $1.141 billion in Q4 2012

Telecom Lead America: Juniper Networks has posted 2 percent increase in Q4 2012 revenue at $1.141 billion.

The company posted net income of $96 million in the fourth quarter of 2012.

The networking company’s full year revenue for 2012, however, declined 2 percent to $4.365 billion.

Juniper Networks said net income was $187 million for the year ended December 31, 2012,

During the fourth quarter, Juniper Networks completed the acquisition of Contrail Systems for $176 million in cash and equity.

“During the past year we strengthened our product portfolio, took key steps to drive operational execution, and allocated capital in a balanced way. We believe Juniper is entering 2013 in a strong position, with good opportunities in routing and switching and a greatly improved Enterprise security portfolio as we continue to deliver on the promise of the high performance network,” said Kevin Johnson, chief executive officer of Juniper Networks.

Capital expenditures during the fourth quarter of 2012 were $92 million and $49 million, respectively. The 31 percent increase in capital expenditures for the full year was primarily due to the build out of the Company’s Sunnyvale, Calif. campus.

Juniper estimates revenue for the first quarter ending March 31, 2013 to be in the range of $1,050 million to $1,070 million.
