Harris Corp signs $8 million deal for Falcon manpack radios in Middle East

Telecom Lead Middle East: Harris Corporation has
received an $8 million order from a country in the Middle East for Falcon
high-frequency manpack radios as part of its tactical radio modernization
program.


The Falcon II RF-5800H will provide this nation’s armed
forces with beyond line-of-sight terrestrial voice and data communications. The
RF-5800H offers advanced features such as Third Generation-Automatic Link
Establishment, integrated data link protocols and embedded GPS receivers.


The RF-5800H delivers highly reliable and secure
communications even in the most challenging mission environments, such as
mountains and urban areas,” said Brendan O’Connell, president, International
Business, Harris RF Communications.


Harris Corp has delivered more than 100,000 Falcon II HF
manpack radios, which provide security forces with long-distance voice and data
links that lead to enhanced situational awareness and command and control.


Moreover, Harris RF Communications supplies assured
communications systems and equipment for public safety, utility and
transportation markets with products ranging from the most advanced IP voice
and data networks to portable and mobile single and multiband radios.
